The Matthews Police Department would like to thank you for visiting our web site. We have developed this site in order to enhance the flow of information between our department and the community. Please click on our Community Response link and let us know what's going on in your neighbor hood, what more we can do to make our community safer, and how we can change this web site to make it more helpful. With your help, we can make Matthews an even safer and enjoyable place to live.
Our Police Department is divided into four main divisions, Administration, Criminal Investigations, Support Services and Patrol. The employees in these four divisions work hand in hand to protect our citizens and to deliver the highest level of service possible to our community. While our staff work eight to twelve hour shifts, many still volunteer to assist organizations like MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) and SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving) as well as Police Athletic League (PAL), and our Lunch Buddies Program.
The Administration Division handles the day to day business and record keeping of our department. All reports are reviewed and filed through this division and most reports are available to the public through the Records Division within 24 to 48 hours. The Patrol Division and Criminal Investigation Division handle most of the community's needs. You can find out all you need to know about how they work and what they can do for you by clicking on their respective links. Our department also provides School Resource and D.A.R.E. Officers for our community's seven public and private schools. These officers provide a safe place for our children to learn.
Hopefully the information provided within this site will prove helpful and educational to you. Please explore our site and forward any feedback to us through our Community Response link. We thank you for your interest in our Department and look forward to serving you in the future.
